Pontius Pilate was a Governor during the period that Emperor Tiberius Claudius ruled (This would be the time Jesus and John the Baptist were around preaching and teaching people about God) .
He was not perfect and none of the people of Jerusalem really cared about what he did or said. Pontius Pilate ruled form 26 to 36 CE. Pontius Pilate was the man who allowed his soldiers and people to crucified Jesus and nail him to the cross.
Pontius Pilate was a man who is now a main part in the Gospel.
Tiberius Claudius:
Tiberius Claudius Reign was from 14-37 AD and became one of rome’s best Generals.
He was the second roman emperor, from the death of Octavian Augustus. He soon bearing the name Tiberius Julius Caesar. He was the son of Tiberius Claudius Nero and Livia Drusilla.
His Mother got divorced and then he was remarried to Augustus.
